Alan Kouba
Alan Kouba, CEO
Alan Kouba is one of the founders of Pivotal and has been instrumental in the direction and expansion of Pivotal since 1981. Currently he is the CEO and responsible for guiding the business and its employees in achieving the company’s goals.
Mr. Kouba has spent his working career in the human resource field, starting out in the trucking business and then moved into temporary staffing. When he immigrated to Canada in 1980, he continued in the temporary staffing business and shortly after started what is known today as Pivotal Integrated HR Solutions.
In 1981 the fledgling Company began in the temporary truck driver business, providing resources to transportation, distribution and manufacturing firms across the GTA. Over the next few years, the business expanded to include light-industrial temporary workers, culminating in the ACTION FORCE division - now one of south western Ontario’s largest providers of light industrial temporary services.
In 1993, after witnessing the initial success of HR outsourcing in the U.S., Mr. Kouba and his partners created H.R. Outsourcing Inc. to provide back office and payroll processing services. In early 2003, he again expanded the company to include three new businesses. These included an executive search, an interim management company and BPO Solutions, a full-scale HR outsourcing company.
Over the years, Mr. Kouba has successfully added businesses in areas that are complimentary to temporary staffing and in 2004 these were consolidated into one company called Pivotal and Mr. Kouba became CEO.
Mr. Kouba has a BSc (Hons) in Business Administration from Bradford University in Yorkshire, England.
Mr. Kouba is a member of several business groups and is active in supporting a number of charities.
